This is a really big painting for me, 48"x60", it's going to be hung at Mason Murer gallery in Atlanta GA, as part of a group show. The opening will be Nov. 11, 2011 from 7pm to 10pm. The openings are always a blast. The gallery is as big as a football field and the artwork is very diverse. And there's always a big turnout.

These 4 paintings will be my contribution to a 3 woman show at 16 Patton Gallery in Asheville NC. The opening for the show will be Oct. 22, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm. The other 2 artists are my good friend Karin Jurick, and Suzy Schultz. I love going to Asheville, so this will be a really fun night. Good friends, great art, and one of my favorite cities.

I was very pleased to have been invited to present 2 paintings for a still life show at Principle Gallery in Alexandria Virginia starting April 15. Although sometimes my paintings have more going on then a normal still life painting, there is definitely an element of still life present in each one. Here are the two paintings I choose for the show.

I just finished my first book! It's a 12" x 12" hardback book with a dust jacket. My husband Neil put it together on blurb and it looks great. Our copy arrived the other day and the quality of the paintings and the construction is great. The book is being offered through the blurb bookstore. When you click on the link it takes you to my page where you can preview the entire book and purchase it if you like.

In January 2011 my work was featured on the cover of The Laurel of Asheville Magazine, plus an article in the magazine. I have recently started showing my work at 16 Patton Gallery in Asheville and this was such a great introduction for my work into Asheville's amazing art scene. If any of you want a great art and food vacation, you don't have to go all the way to New York, Asheville has fantastic Art Galleries and the restaurants were great too. Neil and I are mostly vegetarians, and the vegetarian restaurants were everywhere!
I thought the article was beautifully written, and the quality of the photo's were the best magazine reproductions I've had printed of my work.

Hello, it's been a while since I blogged. I've been experimenting with new ideas for paintings. I am inspired by my husband Neil's beautiful paintings. He often works with dark backgrounds, and it adds a wonderful drama and intensity to his work. I wondered if I could continue my love for painting interiors, but place the furniture on a dark background. Here's my 1st attempt. I think it worked well, and I think I could continue to explore this theme. But I wonder if it works for other people. It's all well and good if you love your own creation. But it's more fun, and profitable, if others find beauty in the paintings as well.
