Watermelon and Cherries

I'm starting this week's ebay paintings with a bright beach painting. The contrast between the turquoise ocean and the bright red fruit adds a punch to this image. My husband Neil's paintings of cherries inspired me to paint some cherries of my own, they were calling out to me. If you would like to place a bid on ebay click here.

  1. Great use of the red fruits to add a bit of colour, they work really well. As always, I wish I was sitting in that chair!

  2. I like that you are exploring different elements to paint. However, by far my favorite paintings remain the ones that have fewer visual detail. Visual simplification for me actually adds depth and interest because it forces me to "fill in" the elements that complete the story being told on the canvas. This "filling in" can lead to so many interpretation. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of Karen Hollingsworth!
