Winter Guest

I don't know about you, but on the rare occasion that it snows in Georgia, I just love it. It's really calming and comforting to just stay home and watch the snow accumulate. So this painting is all about that. Winter Guest will be auctioned on ebay, click here for the link

Beach Read

Working smaller and faster for my series of 12x12" and 12x16" paintings for ebay has been a great experience. I'm continuing to paint familiar themes of windowscapes, but every week I'm trying out new ideas. Last week it was a sleeping cat, and a flower arrangement. This week I'm going to attempt to paint a tornado! It's also inspired me to take more chances with my larger paintings for galleries. Watching my husband Neil paint his cow painting made me want to paint cows too! So I'm working on a large windowscape painting of cows on a beach. Neil and I will put both cow paintings in our Atlanta gallery, Mason Murer. I think they show 2 very different views of the beauty of the common cow. Tonight I'm offering a very familiar theme, a scene I think of as my Beach Read series. I think everyone can relate to the feeling of time slowing down at the beach, you can watch the water, feel the breeze and catch up on your reading, or re-visit a wonderful book that you can read again and again. This painting will be offered on ebay , click here to see auction.

Mountain Bluebird

Mountain Bluebird 12x16",o/c

I've painted this bluebird about 5 times now. Every time I paint him, he turns out a little bit different. I love the softness of his feathers and of course the beautiful blue color. The hydrangeas are a new subject for me, but I was pleased with how they turned out. This painting is up for auction on ebay, click here for the link.

CatNap

CatNap  12x16 o/c

I've had a cat in my life since I was 18. I love all animals, but a cat can make a house feel like a home. So all you cat people who think a sleeping kitty is a wonderful sight enjoy this painting.

This painting will be available for auction on ebay, click here for the link.

SeaFruit

12 x 16 oil on canvas

One of the things I love about painting this theme "WindowScapes" is that within one composition, I get to paint a landscape, an interior and a still life painting. That keeps things interesting and fun, and I think that the buyer of the painting gets 3 paintings in one. I'm all about a bargain! This painting will be available as an ebay auction , if you would like to bid on this painting click here.

Art walk in Marietta

Crossroad  by Jeanie Tomanek

Last night Neil and I went to see an art show at DK gallery here in Marietta GA. I hadn't been to this gallery before and it is located in the Marietta Square, the center of the town of Marietta that has retained all it's southern charm. Our good friend Jeanie Tomaneck was one of the artists showing her work. Jeanie's paintings have an amazing essence. It's central figures are women that are beautifully painted and have all the strength and beauty that woman possess and also their fragility. Very symbolic work that has a dreamlike quality. If you live in town you should go.

I was also moved by these sculptures by Fred Allen. They are mechanical fish, and they are so mesmerizing. There is a great video on you tube.
